Remote Curriculum Trak Training for Teachers

Setup Requirements for any Remote Training
  • This training is done remotely using GoToMeeting.
  • School will need to set up a computer with a microphone and speakers and have it hooked up to a projector.
  • Each attendee should have his/her own computer to work on during the training.
  • Each attendee should be able to see (projector) and hear (speakers) the main computer.

 

Module 1: Login, Classes, Scope & Sequence

Time Requirement: 90 minutes
Cost: $150

Prerequisites:
  • Curriculum Admin will need to verify that all of the attendees are in the user database.
  • Curriculum Admin will need to verify that most of courses are in the courses database.
  • Curriculum Admin will work with the assigned CT trainer to decide on the timeframe setup.
  • Teachers need to come with a textbook and/or resources for at least one of his/her courses that will help define the units taught for that course.
  • If any of these prerequisites is not met, the CT training may need to address these items during the training time.  As a result, some of the module topics may not get covered in the allotted time.
Topics Covered:
  • Teachers will receive their login information and will learn how to log into Curriculum Trak successfully.
  • Teachers will review the courses attached to them and provide feedback on what courses need to be added or removed from their account.  If there are minor fixes, we will do these changes during the training session. If major udpates are required, this work can be done later on by the Curriculum Admins (with training from the assigned CT trainer)
  • Teachers will learn how to set up their scope & sequence (unit names) in Curriculum Trak.
  • All attendees will see the results of their work using the scope and sequence report(s).

 

Module 2: Add/Edit Unit Content, Unit Attachments, Course Attachments, Attaching Benchmarks, View Benchmarks, View Other Curriculum

Time Requirement: 90 minutes
Cost: $200

Prerequisites:
  • Module 1 completed OR confirmation that teachers have mastered the topics covered in that module.
  • Curriculum Admin will need to verify that the mapping template is complete.
  • Curriculum Admin will need to verify that the desired benchmarks have been uploaded.
  • Curriculum Admin will work with the assigned CT trainer to decide on a task timeline for completing the mapping process.
  • Teachers need to come with a textbook / resources for at least one unit.
  • If any of these prerequisites is not met, the CT training may need to address these items during the training time.  As a result, some of the module topics may not get covered in the allotted time.
Topics Covered:
  • Teachers will learn how to add/edit unit content, attach resources to units and attach benchmarks to units.  Teachers will be given ample time to work on at least one unit.
  • Teachers will learn how to search for curriculum maps and units from other schools using Curriculum Trak.
  • All attendees will see the results of their work using a selection of report(s).

 

Module 3: Lesson Planner Training

Time Requirement: 90 minutes
Cost: $250

Prerequisites:
  • Module 1 & 2 completed OR confirmation that teachers have mastered the topics covered in these modules.
  • Teachers need to have the scope and sequence set up for all of their courses.
  • Curriculum Admin will need to verify that the lesson plan template is complete, decide on flex vs. fixed schedules and have non-school days entered.
  • Curriculum Admin will work with the assigned CT trainer to decide on lesson planner expectations of teachers.
  • Teachers need to come with a textbook / resources for at least one lesson.
  • If any of these prerequisites is not met, the CT training may need to address these items during the training time.  As a result, some of the module topics may not get covered in the allotted time.
Topics Covered:
  • Teachers will learn how to set up their class sections.  Teachers will be given ample time to set up their entire schedule.
  • Teachers will learn how to add/edit lessons to the lessons database.  Teachers will be given ample time to work on at least one lesson.
  • Teachers will learn how to add lessons to their weekly planner.
  • Teachers will be exposed to the all the remaining Lesson tools and reports.
